Gibson to make “Apocalypto: A New Hope”

Mel Gibson was recently informed of the vast innacuracies in his Mayan action film Apocalypto. Amongst its many falacies, the film depicted the Mayans as a blood thirsty and warring people, completely ignoring the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

“Action films are all I know,” explained the apologetic Gibson. “My whole career has been about buddy cop movies and lavish war epics. Believe me… the last thing I needed was to offend yet another group of people.”

To remedy the situation Gibson has already started work on a prequel Apocalypto: A New Hope.

Gibson claimed, “I want to show the beauty of the Mayan culture and the nobility of its people.”

In A New Hope, Gibson will focus on a young hero, Balakal-El played by Mario Lopez. Balakal-El, will have the ability to fly like the quetzal bird and will bring peace to his people. His father and mentor, Bakjor-El Tum, will be played by Edward James Olmos.

“One thing I noticed was that I didn’t have a single cameo by Edward James Olmos. I believe this is a big reason why the Hispanics started getting mad. It was an honest mistake. Edward James Olmos will be prominently used throughout this movie.”

Edward James Olmos could not be reached for comment.

Why Satire?

Puro Pedo Magazine is a monthly Chican@ political/cultural satire magazine.

We believe that information should be free and you should feel free to laugh también! We also believe in the Zapatistas’ idea of autonomy, so our magazines are also advertisement free.

People in the Movement have forgotten how to laugh, but satire and comedy can be new ways of tackling issues such as institionalized racism, gentrification, immigration and assimilation.

We are currently paying for the magazines out of our pockets but we’d love donations. Any one who donates to Puro Pedo Magazine will have their name added to our Padrinos page of the magazine. Please contact us if you wish to be a Madrina or a Padrino!
